New Jersey American Water has announced the appointment of David Forcinito as its new Vice President of Operations, reinforcing its leadership team with a veteran executive who brings more than three decades of experience within the company.
Forcinito returns to the utility after serving as Vice President of Fleet at American Water, a position he assumed in June 2024. He succeeds Ben Morris, who has moved to the role of Vice President of Operations for Strategic Programs within American Water.
In his new position, Forcinito will be responsible for overseeing operational activities across New Jersey American Water's service area. His responsibilities include water production, wastewater collection and field operations serving approximately 3 million customers in 18 counties throughout the state.
Commenting on the appointment, Mark McDonough, president of New Jersey American Water, said: "Dave's deep roots in New Jersey American Water's operations and his decades of hands-on leadership make him exceptionally well suited for this role. We are proud to welcome him back and look forward to the expertise and continuity he will bring to our operations team."
Forcinito's career with New Jersey American Water began more than 35 years ago when he joined the company as a project engineer. Over the years, he held a series of operational and management positions, including Operations Superintendent, Maintenance Manager, Production and Field Operations Manager, and Senior Director of South Operations. He rejoined New Jersey American Water in April following his tenure leading fleet operations at the parent company.
A New Jersey native, Forcinito holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Widener University and a master's degree in water resources and environmental engineering from Villanova University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey and holds multiple operator certifications issued by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
He is also actively involved in several professional organizations, including the American Water Works Association, the Water Environment Federation and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
