NTT Data has unveiled plans to initiate a tender offer for renowned Japanese software firm, Jastec, at a valuation of JPY 1,940 per share. Jastec, distinguished for its proprietary production and management system, Actum, has enjoyed a fruitful partnership with NTT Data, collaborating on various enterprise and governmental ventures.
NTT Data said it intends to expand its business presence in Japan by proactively investing in domestic mergers and acquisitions. Such endeavors aim to fortify its consulting, digital technology, and system development capabilities while expanding its asset portfolio. Jastec's specialized approach to software development, emphasizing turnkey contracting over conventional manpower leasing, has cemented its reputation for delivering "low-cost, high-quality software" across diverse industries.
Recognizing the necessity for an integrated business management platform, both entities have underscored the importance of forging a direct capital relationship. With Jastec boasting net sales of JPY 20,762 million for the fiscal period concluding in November 2023 and a total of 18,287,000 outstanding shares, the stage is set for a potentially transformative union in the realm of Japanese software development.
