Osmoflo and CERAFILTEC have expanded their partnership to support broader deployment of ceramic membrane technology in water treatment systems. The agreement combines CERAFILTEC’s specialization in ceramic ultrafiltration membranes with Osmoflo’s regional reach and experience in water, wastewater, and desalination projects.
Through this collaboration, Osmoflo will incorporate CERAFILTEC’s ceramic membranes into its water treatment offerings, enabling solutions for new installations, upgrades, and retrofit applications. The agreement also supports efforts to enhance treatment performance in Membrane BioReactors (MBRs), drinking water plants, and tertiary reuse systems.
Ceramic membranes are gaining traction in MBRs and other demanding environments due to their chemical resistance, longevity, and ability to handle high levels of suspended solids and oil. These characteristics can improve system resilience and reduce long-term operational costs.
Scott Chalmers, General Manager of Strategic Growth at Osmoflo, stated that the integration of ceramic membranes into the company’s Cerflo product line supports clients’ sustainability goals and infrastructure modernisation efforts.
CERAFILTEC CEO Torsten Wintergerste, formerly of Sulzer Chemtech, emphasised the reliability and versatility of ceramic membranes, highlighting their ability to perform in challenging feedwater conditions while offering a competitive total cost of ownership.
Based in Germany, CERAFILTEC brings over 25 years of experience in ceramic filtration, contributing to improved water quality and operational efficiency. Osmoflo, headquartered in Australia, has delivered more than 650 water treatment projects globally, serving municipal, industrial, and mining clients with a focus on sustainability and innovation.
