SUEZ has entered into a joint venture agreement with Sonadezi, a state-owned enterprise that manages 11 large industrial parks across Vietnam, to provide integrated environmental services at Chau Duc Industrial Park, the largest in South Vietnam. This collaboration marks SUEZ’s first industrial park project in Vietnam and its 22nd across Asia, underscoring the company’s ongoing dedication to supporting sustainable development in the region through circular, resilient water and waste management solutions.

François Fevrier, CEO Water and R&R of SUEZ Asia, said: “This partnership marks a major step for SUEZ into Vietnam’s industrial park sector. We have proven expertise and technical know-how in industrial parks across Asia, providing state-of-the-art environmental services to 22 parks in the region. We are pleased to join hands with Sonadezi to write the next chapter of our story in Vietnam. As the country continues to develop its industrial landscape, SUEZ is committed to supporting its vision for a more sustainable future, by providing innovative water and waste solutions.”

Vietnam’s industrial park landscape has expanded significantly since the opening of its first park in 1963, now totaling over 400. To address increasing challenges related to industrial water use and wastewater treatment—including improving water quality, stabilizing effluent from treatment plants, and upgrading pipe networks—the Vietnamese government has enacted strong environmental regulations. In alignment with the country’s goals, 40% to 50% of localities plan to convert their existing industrial parks into eco-industrial zones by 2030. With its proven expertise, SUEZ is well-equipped to support this green transformation.

The initial phase of the partnership between SUEZ and Sonadezi will focus on upgrading and operating the current wastewater treatment systems

Located just over an hour from Ho Chi Minh City, Chau Duc Industrial Park is a strategic hub for industrial activity in South Vietnam. It serves as a key entry point for international investors in fast-growing sectors such as semiconductors, mechanical manufacturing, and automotive components, and plays a central role in Vietnam’s broader economic strategy.

The initial phase of the partnership between SUEZ and Sonadezi will focus on upgrading and operating the current wastewater treatment systems. The joint venture will offer end-to-end wastewater solutions to more than 100 industrial tenants within the park. As the park continues to grow and national environmental standards become more rigorous, the partnership will also explore advanced technologies and infrastructure improvements to further enhance water and waste services.

With 160 years of global experience, SUEZ has been delivering integrated water and waste management services to 22 industrial parks in Asia for over 20 years. In Vietnam, SUEZ has collaborated with local partners since 1955 on more than 20 projects involving sustainable water supply and wastewater treatment. The new agreement represents another significant step for the company in delivering cost-effective, reliable environmental solutions that support Vietnam’s sustainability ambitions.
