The Smart Water Networks Forum (SWAN) has appointed Fredrick Royan as its new Council Chair.

Royan brings over two decades of experience in water resources and sustainability, making him a pivotal figure in steering the SWAN Forum towards a resilient future highlighted by further innovation and collaboration, highlighted the smart water global hub in a recent press statement.

Fredrick is currently the Global Practice Area Leader for the Sustainability and Circular Economy Practice at Frost & Sullivan. His focus revolves around driving sustainability initiatives through a comprehensive 6P framework encompassing policies, products, processes, people/personas, partnerships, and platforms.

Fredrick has spearheaded groundbreaking industry reports on the smart water sector. His commitment to advancing smart water solutions is evident in his role as Chair of the SWAN India Alliance, underscoring his dedication to expanding these innovations across emerging markets.

Commenting on this appointment, Fredrick said, “The rapidly growing global community of the SWAN Forum brings together leading water utilities and regulators as well as the ecosystem of innovative start-ups and leading design engineering and solution companies and is already delivering pioneering research, interactive events and workshops on smart water through the regional alliances and communities of practices.”

“I would like to thank the SWAN Forum team and the SWAN Council members of the past and present for this opportunity to Chair the forum – and also thank our outgoing Chair Jennifer Rebeiro for her contributions over the many years as an active member of the SWAN Council and her leadership as Chair over the last couple of years,” he added.

Fredrick concluded with his vision, “I am looking forward to working with the Advisory Council and the SWAN Forum team as we look to further strengthen the collaboration between utilities and ecosystems of partners in scaling smart water transformation for water utilities around the world to ensure key sustainable outcomes of resilience, security, and accessibility.”
