SWPC announces 14 companies prequalify for major pipeline project

The Saudi Water Partnership Company announced on Wednesday that it has prequalified a total of 14 companies and consortia for the Rayis-Rabigh Independent Water Transmission Pipeline (IWTP) Project.

The pipeline project will have a total transmission capacity of 900,000 cubic meters per day.

In December 2021, SWPC had issued a Request for Qualification in which a total of 31 companies including 14 Saudi firms had expressed their interest in the IWTP.

The project is planned to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2024 and will have a length of 100 km. 

The list of the prequalified bidders is as follows:

  5. Al-Rawaf Contracting Company 
  6. China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd (CHEC) 
  7. Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios, S.A. 
  8. Gulf Investment Corporation G.S.C. (“GIC”) 
  9. Marubeni Corporation 
  10. Mowah Co. (CJSC) 
  11. Mutlaq Al-Ghowairi Company (MGC) 
  12. Nesma Company Ltd. 
  13. Utico FZC 
  14. Vision International Investment Company 

The Rayis-Rabigh Independent Water Transmission Pipeline (IWTP) Project will be implemented on a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis. 

The successful bidder will provide the entire transmission capacity to the Saudi utility company under a 35-year water transmission agreement.
