Technology, resilience and quality: Taiwan’s water innovation on display

The second day of Taiwan International Water Week (TIWW) 2025 placed the spotlight on the exhibition area at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, where companies, institutions and professionals from around the world gathered to explore cutting-edge solutions for efficient, safe and sustainable water management.
The exhibition is structured around three main themes — Water Technology, Water Resilience, and Water Quality — reflecting both Taiwan’s strategic priorities and the core focus of this year’s edition.
Water technology
The Water Technology area brings together key players in treatment, automation, and process control — covering the entire innovation chain, from research and development to industrial application.
The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Taiwan’s leading applied research organization, showcased advances in energy efficiency, resource reuse, and digitalization of industrial processes, underlining the importance of public research in driving innovation in the water sector.
The exhibitors in this area illustrate Taiwan’s strong positioning in smart water technology, including automation, digital control and real-time data management
Among the private companies, FineTek Co., Ltd., a leading Taiwanese manufacturer of industrial instrumentation, presented its range of level, flow and pressure sensors designed for integration with SCADA and IoT systems. France Evaporation (FE) and Celinius displayed advanced thermal concentration and evaporation technologies for complex effluent treatment.
Together, the exhibitors in this area illustrate Taiwan’s strong positioning in smart water technology, where automation, digital control and real-time data management are becoming essential to achieve more efficient and sustainable water operations.
Water resilience
The Water Resilience section focuses on infrastructure, hydraulic engineering and the technologies that ensure water security amid climate variability.
The Water Resources Agency presented Taiwan’s national strategy for watershed management and smart disaster prevention
The Water Resources Agency (WRA) led this area by presenting Taiwan’s national strategy for systematic watershed management and smart disaster prevention, which includes real-time monitoring, climate adaptation infrastructure, and international cooperation programs.
On the industry side, Kuo Toong International Co., Ltd. (KTI) stood out as a benchmark in hydraulic infrastructure and desalination. With extensive experience in large pipelines, no-dig microtunneling and turnkey water transport projects, the company plays a key role in strengthening Taiwan’s national water supply system.
Altogether, the exhibitors showcased a collective commitment to resilient water planning — combining advanced engineering, technological innovation and public–private cooperation to ensure long-term water stability.
Water quality
The Water Quality area highlights innovations in purification, safety and compliance in both urban and industrial contexts.
Among the featured companies, TankPAC Industries Co., Ltd. (Global Water Solutions) presented its range of pressure tanks, filtration systems and anti-scale solutions. Manufactured with certified materials and designed for durability and low maintenance, these systems exemplify Taiwan’s capacity to deliver reliable solutions for clean water supply.
MIC Meter Industrial Company introduced its Aqua Guardian platform — a real-time monitoring system for parameters such as pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity and suspended solids, based on IoT sensors and cloud connectivity.
Certification and standards organizations, including BSI and NSF Taiwan, were also present, underscoring the importance of quality assurance and international compliance in the water industry.
This area underscores how innovation, digitalization and rigorous quality standards are converging to guarantee safe and efficient water for all uses.
Water Tech Talks: knowledge and innovation at the Sustainability Hub
The Water Tech Talks, held at the Sustainability Hub, have become one of the most dynamic spaces of TIWW 2025, bridging technology, research and practice.
Participants shared insights on digital transformation, industrial optimization, and biotechnology applications for improving water quality
Throughout the day, representatives from ITRI, FineTek Co., Ltd., and Inong Agriculture Co., Ltd. shared insights on digital transformation in water management, industrial process optimization, and biotechnology applications for improving water quality and agricultural efficiency.
These sessions demonstrated Taiwan’s growing role as a hub of water innovation in Asia, where collaboration between research institutions and industry is driving real-world solutions to global water challenges.
Exhibition Highlights
During the day, Smart Water Magazine toured the exhibition floor and spoke with several of the event’s key participants. Among them were Inong Agriculture, applying bio-intelligence to water quality and agricultural management; Kuo Toong International, a leader in water infrastructure and desalination; TankPAC (GWS), specializing in storage and treatment technologies; MIC Meter Industrial, focused on smart water monitoring; and Passal Co., Ltd., providing advanced filtration and sludge dewatering equipment.
