The Environment Agency is gearing up for its next-generation £3 billion flood and coastal management delivery framework and is inviting expressions of interest and pre-market engagement from contractors, reports Construction Enquirer. The tender process for the Collaborative Delivery Framework 2 is scheduled to begin in March 2025.
This new framework will encompass both technical consultancy services and construction works, supporting the agency’s asset management, maintenance, refurbishment, and construction projects. Current framework partners include major contractors such as BAM Nuttall, Kier, Jackson Civil Engineering, and VolkerStevin, with design services provided by consultancy firms like Arup, Atkins, Jacobs, and Jeremy Benn Associates.
The selected firms will be tasked with developing, designing, and implementing nature-based solutions, in addition to traditional hard engineering methods. Projects under this framework will vary in scale, ranging from £1 million to £75 million, and will be divided into three value lots, each tailored to serve the agency’s regional hub structure.
