Miahona, a Saudi-based water and wastewater management company, has signed an agreement with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade, and Uzsuvtaminot, the nation’s leading water authority, reports Zawya. The collaboration aims to explore and develop advanced water and wastewater treatment projects across Uzbekistan.
The agreement covers a total of nine projects, which will be developed using the Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) and Enhanced Operations and Maintenance (EOM) models.
Miahona will explore opportunities to develop four new wastewater treatment plants while taking over the operation and maintenance of five existing facilities. These existing projects are located in the Fergana and Jizzakh regions. The initiative seeks to address the growing demand for modern, efficient water infrastructure in these areas, supporting sustainable development and environmental protection.
This partnership is a significant milestone in Miahona’s global expansion strategy, positioning the company as a leader in international water and wastewater solutions. The agreement will remain in effect for one year or until both parties reach a mutually agreed-upon extension. The financial details of the projects will be finalized after the completion of due diligence, Miahona has said.
This agreement highlights growing international interest in Uzbekistan’s water infrastructure sector and demonstrates Miahona’s commitment to expanding its footprint in high-growth markets through innovative partnerships.
