VA Tech Wabag secures $14 million industrial wastewater contract in Bahrain
VA Tech Wabag (WABAG) has secured a $14 million (Rs 121 crore) contract from BAPCO Refining B.S.C (BAPCO) for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of an Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant (IWTP) in Bahrain, reports the Business Standard. The contract spans seven years, reinforcing WABAG’s footprint in the region’s water treatment sector.
The state-of-the-art IWTP can treat 4,400 US gallons per minute (USGPM) of wastewater using advanced Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) technology. This cutting-edge system ensures high treatment efficiency, meeting strict environmental and industrial regulations. The contract highlights WABAG’s expertise in managing complex wastewater treatment solutions for industrial clients.
This order strengthens WABAG’s O&M portfolio in Bahrain, where the company has been operating the 40 MLD Madinat Salman Sewage Treatment Plant since November 2018. With a growing presence in the region, WABAG continues to drive innovation in sustainable water management for industrial and municipal applications.
The Business Standard also reported that the company shares increased more than 8% to Rs 1,312.10 after the company announced the O&M contract.
