The framework agreements are designed to promote collaboration, flexibility, and agility, key requirements as the water industry tackles a nationwide £88 billion investment programme. Wessex Water’s AMP8 plans not only focus on traditional construction projects but also include innovative approaches such as nature-based solutions, with a commitment to deliver 36 such projects to address storm overflows.
Wessex Water's assets comprise 35,000 km of sewers, 12,000 km of water mains, 231 water sources and treatment centres, and 400 water recycling centres, among other critical infrastructure. The company’s engineering and delivery director highlighted that the new appointments will enable wider opportunities for training, development, apprenticeships, and secondments, supporting a programme more than double the size of their AMP7 commitments.
