The World Health Organization’s (WHO) Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Unit is issuing a call for expressions of interest in four areas: to provide technical support to three areas of its work on water, sanitation and hygiene; and to become a member of its Strategic Advisory Board:
- WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme for Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (JMP).
WHO is seeking consultants to provide technical guidance to countries in strengthening monitoring systems related specifically to SDG targets 6.1 on safely managed drinking water services and 6.2.1a on safely managed sanitation facilities and hand-washing with soap.

WHO is seeking consultants to provide various levels of technical guidance towards the 2023 update of indicator 6.3.1 on safely treated domestic wastewater treatment.

- WHO’s work on drinking-water quality.
WHO is seeking institutions(s) or individual(s) to:
- Support development of technical resources underpinning the Guidelines for drinking-water quality (GDWQ).
- Support development of practical resources to facilitate implementation of the recommendations in the GDWQ.
- Provide country support and capacity building based on the GDWQ and supporting resources.

- WHO is also calling for applications or nominations to join the Strategic Advisory Board to the JMP and UN-Water Global Analysis and Assessment of Sanitation and Drinking-Water (GLAAS).
WHO and UNICEF are seeking applications and nominations for new Strategic Advisory Group members to serve the 2021-2023 term. Applications and nominations are welcomed from outstanding professionals with a well-established track record in relevant areas of expertise relating to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene.
