Water Minister Rebecca Pow MP has written to all water industry workers thanking them for keeping the nation’s water running during the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Government has officially designated water and sewerage staff as ‘key workers’ delivering a critical public service. Water company personnel are out on UK streets carrying out critical maintenance, laying new pipes, finding and fixing leaks and unblocking sewers. Others are working from home, keeping up the level of service customers expect and helping them get the support they need.
In the letter to water company employees, the Minister said that she is “incredibly grateful for the proactive approach and the extraordinary effort you have all shown to keep our vital services running.”
