Exponential population growth is having an increasingly serious impact on the world's water resources.
The trend suggests that by 2050 the population will increase to 10,000,000,000 people. And how will this affect our water resources?
According to figures taken from 'Libro Blanco de la Economía del Agua', by 2020 water consumption will increase by 50%; 1.8 billion people will live in regions with absolute water scarcity; 2/3 of the population will live in conditions of water stress; and 18 countries will have a greater demand for water than their resources.
But not only that, 1 in 4 people will live in a country where the lack of fresh water will be chronic and recurrent.
