The Technology Approval Group (TAG) is a collaborative forum that connects water utilities and informs participants about innovative technologies emerging in the marketplace. TAG has been adopted successfully to stimulate the uptake of innovation within the water sector in Australia, Singapore, the Philippines, Brazil, Africa, Europe, the United States and Middle East. TAG promotes a strategic approach to innovation, supports the development and commercialization of new technology in line with the needs of the water utility and helps to secure investment both into the technology companies themselves or the projects that they create. External investment requirements are also an important consideration and the TAG model can also facilitate this process through its bespoke stakeholder engagement process bringing together technology companies, end users, delivery partners and investors. This has been instrumental to the successful uptake and commercialization of numerous water and environmental technologies and projects around the world.
