Sungrow Hydrogen has emerged victorious in the bidding for the China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) Songyuan Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park project in Jilin, China, which is set to be the world's largest integrated green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol production facility.
Sungrow Hydrogen's 1000Nm³/h ALK hydrogen production system will play a pivotal role in this expansive venture. The CEEC Songyuan project is part of the first batch of "Green and Low-carbon Advanced Technology Demonstration Projects" endorsed by the China National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). This project represents a significant step forward in green hydrogen technology and is also a key component of the "Hydrogen Powers Jilin" initiative.
With an investment exceeding $4 billion, the project aims to produce 110,000 tonnes of green hydrogen, 600,000 tonnes of green ammonia, and 60,000 tonnes of green methanol annually once operational. This ambitious scale underscores China's commitment to advancing renewable energy technologies and reducing carbon emissions.
Sungrow Hydrogen's ALK and PEM water electrolyzer products, which have previously secured CEEC's hydrogen production equipment contracts in 2023, are known for their exceptional performance. The ALK hydrogen production system, in particular, boasts advanced technologies in flexible green hydrogen production, electro-hydrogen coupling, energy management, and cluster control. This system is designed to integrate seamlessly with synthetic ammonia and methanol production systems, ensuring high efficiency and reliability.
This project marks the third significant venture for Sungrow Hydrogen in Jilin province. Looking ahead, the company plans to actively support the completion of the Songyuan project and pursue additional projects globally. Sungrow Hydrogen's ongoing efforts aim to pave the way for large-scale green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol production, fostering the growth of the renewable energy hydrogen sector and the green hydrogen-based chemical industry.
